His Indian fans will be thrilled to know that Sajid Nadiadwala has managed to rope in Sly (as he is fondly called) for his upcoming film, Kambakkth Ishq that has Bollywood action-hero Akshay Kumar in the lead.Stallone will play himself in the film, which will be shot in Los Angles. When contacted, Sajid Nadiadwala said, “The deal has finally been signed and sealed, and soon it will be delivered.Normally, it takes a long time to seal deals involving people from Hollywood, but since I had my script and homework in place, things got easier. Sly will be playing a vital character in Kambakkth Ishq. We will shoot the film in Universal Studios, and a couple of scenes with him at the Kodak Theatre where the Oscar awards take place. Everything has been spoken about and even Sly is very keen to do the film.”
Talking more about the film, Nadiadwala says, “Akshay plays a body-double and stuntman for Hollywood films, and so I needed to have a couple of big Hollywood stars.
It would look very artificial if we do not have anyone from Hollywood, given the storyline of the film. So far we’ve signed Sly, we will have a couple of other major names on board as well.
When asked about the expense of the film, Nadiadwala said, “As a producer, it surely is an expensive proposition. But it’s a great coup, considering I am a huge Sly fan.
I have grown up watching his films. Every DVD and poster of Rocky and Rambo are part of my collection. I met him at a hotel in LA. It was a fantastic meeting, almost like a dream come true!”
Kambakkth Ishq stars Kareena Kapoor opposite Akshay Kumar, apart from Aftab Shivdasani, Amrita Arora, Kirron Kher and Javed Jaffrey and it will be directed by Sabbir Khan.
