Australia: Australian government buys water for Murray Basin
Radio Australia: The Australian government has secured an extra 35 billion litres of water to be returned as environmental flows to the nation's biggest water system, the Murray Darling Basin. Under the water buy back, Canberra has spent $US47 million purchasing licenses from irrigators in seven of the basin's 18 catchments.
