Australia: Desalination plants in 50-year plan

Sydney Morning Herald: ONE desalination plant is on the way and five more may be built to accommodate a booming population and climate change in south-east Queensland. A draft 50-year plan released yesterday seeks to increase the water supply and cut demand to ensure a "sustainable and prosperous lifestyle".
