Australia to Spend $50 Million for Murray-Darling Water

Environment News Service: The Australian government will spend $50 million this financial year on buying back water entitlements to rescue the Murray-Darling Basin's rivers and wetlands. Australia's most important agricultural area has been gripped by a decade-long drought. The Murray-Darling Basin is 3,430 kilometers long and drains one-seventh of the Australian land mass.
