United Kingdom: Council to cut carbon footprint
BBC: Aberdeen City Council is planning to take a stand against global warming by switching off floodlighting. The council will switch off the lighting on a number of the city's most high profile landmarks to save energy. Marischal College, the Wallace monument, St Mark's Church and the St Nicholas Kirkyard facade will remain unlit.
