Acer, the third largest computer manufacturer in the world (after Hewlett Packard and Dell), announced it will buy E-ten, the Taiwan-based company that produces the Glofiish series of Windows Mobile powered smartphones.
The acquisition, which will cost Acer about 9 billion Taiwan dollars (somewhere around $291.7 million), should be completed in the third quarter of 2008 and it has already been approved, unanimously, by the executive staffs of both Acer and E-ten.
