BOCOG is an acronym for "Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games." At present, it is organized in 26 government agencies, all headed by high-level officials of the Chinese Communist Party, which have been working since 2001 to prepare the Olympics. It’s principal function: to celebrate and legitimize the power of the Chinese regime. One of the most important departments of BOCOG is the "Media and Communication Department," which serves as an instrument of regime propaganda. Just as in the Berlin Olympics in 1936, which were organized to impress the world and glorify the Third Reich, the rhetoric utilized in the promotion of the Beijing Olympics is clearly CCP propaganda.
