I had never imagined I would travel to Kashmir, but there I was with my wife on a Mumbai-Delhi flight recently, thanks to my father-in-law, who works for an airlines company.
 

Employees of this company get tickets at hefty discounts to their original price. There's a rider, though: You have to get your ticket confirmed just before the flight. You have to wait for a plane that has seats left to be taken.
